Shampoo and Conditioner

As I washed my hair, I looked over and I noticed that the bottles I was using were from Trader Joes. It was another chapter in my life when I shopped there.

For years, I have been using the same bottles and refilling them.

I am fortunate that there is a store nearby (and has been for the last 12 years) where I can refill these same bottles in bulk.

It’s amazing how well they’ve held up, even after travelling with me — you can even read the label.

I also reused a ketchup bottle which I’ve had now for 3 and 1/2 years.

Tooth Powder

With my toothpaste, I’ve taken it a step further but creating my own tooth powder and keeping it in a glass jar. It was super easy to google a recipe for tooth powder, which I buy in the bulk section at my local health food store.

  • 2 parts baking soda

  • 1 part bentonite clay

  • 1 tsp ground clove

  • Optional: a couple drops of peppermint essential oil

Beginner Tips
